The Beheading

Beheading Holofernes Part one worked to combine art and fashion to create a powerful and empowering visual narrative. This project involved the creation of a unique outfit, featuring a wet molded leather corset and a hand-dyed knitted skirt, inspired by the painting “Judith beheading Holofernes” by Gentileschi and the spirit of Renaissance art. The intention of this project was to symbolise female empowerment and resilience, emphasising the outfit as a metaphorical armour against a patriarchal society.
